The Founder of Save Our Sri Lanka (SOS)

Dear Friends,

As the founder of Save Our Sri Lanka (SOS) I would like to thank you for visiting our website. I wish that you all may like to know about our philosophy spurred actions which we do to care for the people and environment at my humanitarian and eco-friendly organization.

More than “just” a help organization I would rather like to introduce it as a service station where we develop a variety of programs to help and teach people to help them be richer in knowledge and in empowerment. We, therefore, are like factories that create- vision, learning, loving and caring with a bold course of action to experience a common change in all of us and then to apply and share new values to bring about a sensible transformation in people. We also want to instill hope & belief in the younger generation for success. In our role as an environmental facilitator we only try to adjust the sail in their (life) voyage to become better sailors themselves one day.

The journey that I started some 15 years ago with some of my European friends, here in Sri Lanka, had a rocky beginning. Although our start was one also without a dream or a plan, it was largely marked with an unexpected wake-up event, probably one of the most dreadful natural disasters which belabored the world: 26th December 2004 Tsunami! It took a quarter of a million lives from 14 countries.

I think, much of the laceration risks associated with natural disasters like Tsunamis possibly be avoided or be brought down to minimum if people do have enough knowledge and preparedness. Therefore, helping people with education, knowledge, self-confidence, love and practical approach to deal with tough problems are essential support to people who are in quandaries. Therefore, as we have learnt together from perilous disasters like Tsunami, we have to ensure that our fellow members are not to be left alone in difficult times. It would be important to stay with them and to give confidence, self-belief and hope needed to rise up.

That is my Save Our Sri Lanka (SOS) motive and our passion. We would continue to do our best to make Sri Lanka a great place full of successful people also as an attractive model in the 21st century.

Thank you.

"Treat people as if they were what they ought to be, and you help them become what they are capable of being" - Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
